Alessandra Marianelli is considered one of the most promising sopranos of her generation, born in 1986, she made her operatic debut in Le Nozze di Figaro in 2002 in Pisa. After that she started an international career that brought her to sing in major opera houses and festivals, including: Teatro del Maggio Musicale in Florence; Teatro dell’Opera in Rome; Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome; Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa; Teatro Comunale in Bologna; Teatro Filarmonico in Verona; Teatro Regio in Turin; Teatro Verdi in Trieste; Teatro Real de Madrid; Opéra de Monte-Carlo; Opera de Bilbao; Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels; and Festival Mozart in La Coruña.
In September 2010 she made her United States debut performing in Don Giovanni with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Roberto Abbado conducting. She then appeared as Xenja in Boris Godunov in Turin; Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Florence under the baton of Zubin Mehta; Un Ballo in Maschera at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo; La Serva Padrona (Serpina) at the Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi; and Ein deutsches Requiem in Rome. She recently added important roles to her repertoire: Musetta (La Bohème) in Riga and Florence, Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Teatro Real de Madrid, Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa (recorded for Decca).
Future plans include: Carmen (Micaela) at the Teatro Regio in Turin under the baton of Gianandrea Noseda and at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata; La Sonnambula at the Opéra in Montecarlo; La Fuga in Maschera in Jesi and Naples.
